The Team That Gets It Done
Say hello to the man who’s been in the oilfield since bell-bottoms were still a thing. Sheldon Van Voast, NOS’s Co-Founder and CEO, got his start in 1980 as a scrub hand before heading offshore as a roustabout with Transworld Drilling. In 1986, he earned his BS in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech, eventually co-founding Northern Oilfield Services in 2017 alongside Jimmy Robinson. Sheldon’s a big-picture thinker who still gets fired up by the NOS crew’s ability to “think outside the box” and tackle tough problems. He’s a proud husband, dad of four, grandpa of eight—and still one of the hardest-working guys in the yard.
Jimmy Robinson isn’t just the Founder and COO of NOS—he’s the kind of leader who asks the right questions and then gets out of your way so you can deliver. Known for his smarts, tenacity, and ability to rally a team, Jimmy’s journey started at Greene’s Energy Group, where he rose from operator to GM in under a decade. Since launching NOS, he’s expanded the company beyond wellhead services into testing, feed-through, and stand-alone businesses like Hi-Cal Welding. Jimmy’s often heard saying, “What do you need to succeed today?”—and he means it. He splits his time between Colorado and North Dakota with his wife Ashley and their two kids.
